Thank you Leolaia. Sometimes it takes me awhile to get back to where I was. I actually saw a couple of things regarding '75 that I don't recall having seen before so thank you other posters also.

1831: william miller begins preaching christ's return in the fall of 1843.. 1842: miller and followers begin publishing a journal, the midnight cry.. 1843, late: miller and followers disappointed; fix christ's return in the spring of 1844.. 1844, spring: miller and followers disappointed; fix christ's return on october 22, 1844.. 1844, late: miller and followers anticipate disappointment.. 1844, october 21: miller says: "i told some of my brethren christ would not come on the morrow" because the second coming would be "in an hour they think not".

I found Jesus in the falls on p 93 live forever book!!
by cultswatter ini always heard comments that there were faces and other objects in the falls on p 93. now i think i have finally confirmed this.
i scanned page 93 using only 300 dpi scanner and did some colour correction and sharpened the image a bit using photoshop .the result is surely jesus and there is also a face of a young kid below jesus.
now i think that the falls image contains a plurality of peoples faces, some people are standing and others just see the face only.. you can clearly make out a gash in jesus forehead.

1967: The Society instructs District Overseers to deliver speeches at circuit assemblies announcing that Armageddon would definitely have arrived by 1975.
Is there documentation on this?

I only got into the markets about a year and a half ago. Just before it tanked! I had only just pulled a little ahead last week. Still holding on though. I'm not so heavily into it that even losing it all would bankrupt me...yet. Interesting times though and traditional wisdom seems to be that when there's blood in the streets is the time to buy.

Kingdom Melodies - What were we singing
by Amber Rose indoes anyone remember the one song that has the line, "let god be true though every man a liar proves to be."?
i always felt uncomfortable singing this.
every man is a liar?

Hey, you are all too harsh on the WT song writers. I mean, come on,
"...we don't need no education..." -- very catchy ditty if a little depressive.
"Can't You Hear Me Knocking" a WT anthem if ever there was one
"Let It Bleed" anti transfusion song
"I Am The Elder" coo-coo-ca-choo -

It should be about nothing. Then, a sitcom will most assuredly follow. Big hit too.

do you still JWspeak?
by knock knock inbut, i see that a good number of people here still say things like "i came in to the truth..." or "i learned the truth..." etc.
not being nitpicky or anything but just curious as to why do some still "talk the talk" so to speak.
just out of habit?

Hey everyone, glad to see others reply. Even the renowned Blondie & Jim -the one it Tx- chimed in. :)
WTwizard; I have seen your hounder-hounderer comments before. Good to have a definition now. :) Only, maybe it's the nonJW's that are the hounded and the JW's as a group that are the hounders. Then go up one level to the hounder-hounders etc. ?? Just messing with ya.
Gotta run or I'll be speaking the unemployed speak! Brother can ya spare a dime... -

by knock knock infew and farrrrrrr between are my armageddon dreams but the other night one shewed up out of nowhere.

Few and farrrrrrr between are my Armageddon dreams but the other night one shewed up out of nowhere. Can't remember what led up to it but the pertinent part is this. At one point others are around and there's a very distressed feeling; then it happens. All the power goes out. I remember looking at a TV as this happened and the sensation was as if everything had simply congealed. Very different, a feeling that you just knew that it was worldwide and god took control of it all and shut it down tight. Now what would be the next logical thing? I woke up. But, I know what was next...TV comes back on and then comes the message from god that this is it. Now it's over. Sinking feeling. Very OuterLimitzy.
When I was little the dreams were of armies after us and invading our homes. Helicopters landing all around... Reading The Diary of Anne Frank in school just made it seem that much more plausible too.
Do I put stock in this type of thing? Nope. This is what was put in our heads for years so it's going to turn up every now and then, I just try not to eat pizza late at night! :)
So what sort of torments visit you from time to time in dreamland?
